Tucson Gem and Mineral Show:
This annual winter event brings gem and mineral dealers and hobbyists from around the country together. Many events are open to the public, in various sites around the city, and it's a great walking activity for anyone interested in gems, minerals, crystals, rocks, and showpiece geology. The show also sponsors educational programs, including local school visits and tours.

Tucson Festival of Books:
This March event brings together readers, writers, and publishers. There are signings and sales booths, science demonstrations, a food festival, author events and workshops, a teen program, and you can just wander and shop.

Tucson Folk Festival:
This May event brings folk musicians and fans together for a weekend, with stage shows, shows for children, workshops, a songwriting contest, a young artist's stage, and music into the night.

Tucson Fourth Avenue Street Fair:
This event happens twice a year, in spring and fall, and features hundreds of art and craft booths, food vendors, two stages, street performers and musicians, jugglers and other entertainers, and lots of fair fun.

The Tucson Rodeo is a large cowboy event in February, and has a full slate of Bronc and bull riding, rodeo clowns, roping, tying, barrel-racing, and a very long rodeo parade through Tucson.

Tucson Meet Yourself
is a series of winter-spring events highlighting the many different ethnic groups now living in the Arizona-Sedona region. Obviously this includes Native and Mexican culture, but also various European, Asian, and African ethnic groups. Events include art, craft, and performances, and educational lectures and demonstrations.

The Pima County Fair
is an April event at the Pima County Fairgrounds, just off I-10, about 25 minutes south of central Tucson, featuring a carnival, rides, shows, and vendors.
